Myrtle Essential Oil is generally sourced from Corsica. Red Myrtle Essential Oil tends to be redder in color than Green Myrtle Essential Oil, but this is not necessarily a foolproof way of determining the composition of the particular Myrtle Essential Oil that you have. Both Green and Red Myrtle Essential Oils share a light, fresh, uplifting aroma. However, Red Myrtle Essential Oil is more “camphorous” in aroma due to its significantly higher 1,8 Cineole content. 1,8 Cineole is an oxide, but it is somewhat camphor-like in the aroma. Emotionally, Green Myrtle Essential Oil may be helpful in calming the mind, easing Anxiety, and promoting restful sleep. Green and Red Myrtle Essential Oils blend particularly well with essential oils in the mint, herbaceous, wood, and citrus families.

USES:-

Myrtle oil is used in skin preparations like creams, lotions, and other cosmetic products. Besides the oil, the Myrtle leaves can be used as tea and can be substituted for bay leaves in cooking. The branches of the tree can be used as firewood. When used for cooking and grilling it transmits a spicy flavor to meats and vegetables.

In traditional herbal medicine, myrtle oil is used to cure digestive problems, urinary infections, bronchial congestion, and dry coughs, Treats Anxiety .Ayurvedic medicine uses it as a treatment for cerebral infections, especially epilepsy. Myrtle has also been used at various times as an antiseptic, an astringent, and a decongestant. It is an effective remedy for regulating the menstrual cycle. In modern aromatherapy, Myrtle is primarily used for respiratory diseases like lung cough, congestion, and cold. The oil is a suitable application for wounds and ulcers. It does not let microbes infect the wounds. Myrtle’s astringent properties make it useful in all types of skincare. It can be applied for open pores, oily skin, acne, and also on mature skin. It is very effective as an ointment base for treating hemorrhoids. As aromatherapy is useful in a child’s bedroom at night, by burning in an oil burner, to help soothe irritable coughing.
