About-
The native place of this tree is Philippines. The tree produces resin , which is pale yellow in color. The essential oil obtained by steam distillation of resin from the plant. Elemi essential oil used as herbal medicines to treat bronchitis, extreme coughing, scars, stress and wounds. Elemi oil used for allergic problems, like rashes, chapped skin. When tree is fully mature then it naturally exudes the resin. The tree produces 1 to 5 kg of resin in a year. The resin quantity depending on the height of plant and maturity, the height of the tree is upto 30 meters. Elemi essential oil is used by ancient Egyptian for preserving dead bodies and adding vibrancy for the skin.

Uses-
Elemi essential oil is a powerful decongestant that can remove phlegm that causes cough and chest congestion. The oil commonly used in ointment and plasters in pharmaceutical industry. The oil is occasionally used as a flavouring ingredient in food products and soft drink and beverages. The calming properties of Elemi oil also help to open up the constricted air ways that can trigger asthma attacks and bronchitis disease, because it opens the trachea wall, in other way oil helps to increase mood and relaxation. It removes stress and nervousness.
