Caraway annual herb that originated from Asia minor, but is now cultivated in Northern Europe, Africa and Russia. Caraway plant is grow up to 2 feet and has soft fern-like leaves, umbels of white/ pink flowers and small brown fruit. The fruit contains 3.95% of oil on average. The highest content of essential oil was obtained in the production area of Banat, apart of Serbia where environmental conditions are very favourable for cultivation of medicinal plants. This essential oil comes from the seeds of caraway plant. It is made by crushing and distilling the seeds of the plant. Caraway spice is popularly used in Europe and in the Indian subcontinent.

Uses:-
Caraway essential oil is an ideal remedy for reducing spasms of the respiratory system and relieving excessive gas. This oil is good for curing fatigue and depression. It’s ability to treat different skin allergies. Caraway oil calms the nerves and soothes, while setting the stomach, nervous, digestion, colic flatulence and gastric spasms. The oil is adding flavour to certain medications and fragrance to soaps, toothpaste and other cosmetics.
