Wormwood, a herb or shrub belongs to the family of Asteraceae. These plants have many small, greenish yellow flower heads. The leaves of the common wormwood probably the best known species, have been used in medicines and beverages. Wormwood is also known as Green Ginger. The essential oil of wormwood is obtained by the process of Steam Distillation from its leaves, flowers and twigs. The oil has a refresh and exciting odor. Wormwood essential oil can be attributed to its properties as an anti-helmitic, deodorant, febrifuge, narcotic, tonic, cholagogue, digestive, emmenagogue, insecticide and vermifuge.

Uses:-
There are many uses of Wormwood essential oil-
• Used for various digestion problems such as upset stomach, intestinal spasms, loss of appetite and gall bladder diseases
• Used to treat liver disease, muscle pain, worm infections, fever, depression and memory loss
• Used to increase sexual desire
• Used to stimulate sweating
• Used for healing wounds and insect bites
• In manufacturing, wormwood oil is used as a fragrance component in cosmetics, perfumes and soaps
