Lemongrass can grow up to 10feet in its favoured habitat, and has red base stems. The greatest time of growth for lemongrass is during the summer in moist, rich soil. Lemongrass essential oil is extracted from the lemongrass plant by the process of steam distillation. The oil can be bright or pale yellow with a thin consistency and a lemony scent. Lemongrass essential oil is often used in aromatherapy and by natural medicine practitioners for a variety of purposes including- relieving headaches, easing indigestion, reducing inflammation and improving dandruff.
