The evergreen grapefruit tree usually grow to around 5-6 m tall. The leaves are glossy, dark green, long up to 15cm and thin. It produces 5cm white four petaled flowers. Grapefruit essential oil is an orange tinted, citrus-scented oil frequently used in aromatherapy. This oil is extracted from glands located in the peel of the grapefruit by a method known as cold-pressing. Citrus paradisi has many medicinal benefits. This oil has been used in the skin creams, in aromatherapy as well as in topical ointments, for thousands of years. Grapefruit essential oil contains strong concentration of the smells and flavours of the plants and fruits from which they are extracted.
