Cyperus Scariosus is a delicate grass available in different places of Bangladesh, India and eastern and southern parts of Indo-Pak subcontinent. There are total 700 species found all over the world. Around 60 species occurs in India, among Cyperus Scariosus is best known for its essential oil. Tuberous rhizomes of this grass are use in making this essential oil by the process of Steam Distillation. This essential oil is widely used in pharmaceutical industries and perfumery purpose. The rhizome of this plant contains an amber or light brown viscous essential oil.

Uses:-
Cypriol oil has warm, woody earthy aroma that works really well in oriental, woody masculine, this oil is also use in pharma industries. Sometimes this oil is used in God worship for fragrance. This essential oil is used in hair oil and shampoo production. Medicinally work in stomach ache, diaphoretic, astringent, useful in diarrhoea, gonorrhea and syphilitic affection.
